THE VIRGINIA BEACH POLICE DEPARTMENT OFFICIALLY ANNOUNCES A FACEBOOK FAN PAGE

The Virginia Beach Police Department officially announces a Facebook fan page.  We realize that facebook is now the most used web site on the entire internet and look to use this social media technology to our advantage.  To become a “fan” of the VBPD, simply go to your facebook profile (you do need to have your own profile) and search for “Virginia Beach Police Department” and click on “Become a fan”.  You will then receive all of the updates the VBPD will be putting out.

Some of the things that the VBPD will use the site for will include but not be limited to the following: post all news releases that come from the public information office, answer questions that citizens have about the department or any crimes occurring in our city, crime trends that may be occurring in certain areas of the city, bulletins for wanted persons or missing/ endangered persons, surveillance pictures and videos, crime prevention tips, job openings within the police department, relevant news stories that involve the VBPD, animal control news, traffic safety initiatives , positive community events involving members of the VBPD, and any other pertinent information that we feel will be of benefit to the citizens of our great city.

There is also a facebook fan page that has been established specifically for our recruiting efforts.  That page is called “Virginia Beach PD”.  It includes helpful hints for hiring, testing, and the academy process, as well as testing dates and job listings.
