POLICE SEEK PUBLIC’S ASSISTANCE IN LOCATING ARMED BANK ROBBER

On Friday, January 22, 2010 at approximately 12:40 p.m., a man walked into the ABNB Federal Credit Union located in the Kemps River Shopping Center, and approached the teller line while displaying a black framed gun.  He handed the teller a note and demanded money. The teller complied and gave an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect.   The suspect fled from the business towards the Kemps River Shopping Center.

 

The suspect is described as a white male, 40-50 years old, 6’0” to 6’1” tall, with a medium build. He was last seen wearing a khaki jacket, blue jeans, dark colored knit cap, black sunglasses, black gloves, and black sneakers.  He was armed with a black handgun.

 

Surveillance photos of the suspect are available.

 

Anyone with information about this crime is encouraged to call the Virginia Beach Crime Solvers Office at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.  Callers remain anonymous and are eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $1,000 if their information leads to an arrest.

 

This case remains under investigation by the Department’s Robbery Squad with Detective Mark Laino as the lead investigator.
