Harris Teeter’s Haiti Earthquake Relief Campaign Surpasses $400,000 in Less Than One Week
Charlotte, NC – In less than one week, Harris Teeter shoppers have answered the company’s call to action to support the American Red Cross’ relief efforts in Haiti and donated $408,319 during the company’s Haiti Earthquake Relief Donation Card Campaign.
All 194 Harris Teeter stores are selling $1 and $5 donation cards to benefit the American Red Cross International Relief Fund. The campaign will run through the 31st of January; there is no limit to the number of cards a customer can purchase. When customers are purchasing groceries, they can simply pick-up either the $1 or $5 card and tell their cashier they would like to make a donation. The card will be scanned and added to the grocery total.
Including the $25,000 donation the company made to the Red Cross at the beginning of the campaign, the total raised has reached $433,319 and will continue to grow throughout the week.
Harris Teeter would like to thank its media partners in all of its marketing areas including WBTV, WLNK and WBT in Charlotte; WECT in Wilmington; WTVD and WRAL FM in Raleigh; WJXA in Nashville; WGHP and WMGA in Greensboro; WCSC and WSSX in Charleston; WVBW in Norfolk; and Washington City Paper in Washington D.C. for helping the company raise awareness for the campaign.
