Hampton, VA - Bethel Temple Church will give away new and slightly used clothes, shoes, and accessories on the first Saturday of each month. Anyone needing clothes for school or work can come to the distribution from 10 am – 2pm to receive clothing.

“During these crucial economic times, we want to lend a hand to those who are struggling to buy decent clothes for their family”, said Glenn Reynolds, Lead Pastor.  Men, women and children are invited to select clothes in a comfortable, clean, and organized environment.  Volunteers will be available to assist those who are physically disabled.  Candis Watson, Operations Director, envisioned the clothes closet as an opportunity to support people with no strings attached. Watson said, “We are so excited to kick off our clothing closet. We received hundreds of articles of new clothes from two local merchants, along with donations from church members. This is an on-going free service for the community”.  Donations of clean clothing, shoes and accessories are also accepted.

The kick-off opening is Saturday, April 3, 2010, from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., in the Bethel Temple Life Center
