Dear Public Service Director,

With more than 10 million Americans affected by blinding diseases, such as age-related macular degeneration, it is critical to raise public awareness on available preventions and treatments.  With an aging population in the U.S., it is even more important for your listeners to learn more about retinal degenerative diseases as the number of people affected is expected to increase 50% by 2020. 

The Foundation Fighting Blindness and the AMD Alliance have teamed up to produce a radio PSA with an important message to educate Americans about age-related macular degeneration, its effects and the latest updates on medical treatments.     

The Foundation Fighting Blindness is the largest source of non-government funding for retinal degenerative disease research in the world.  The urgent mission of the Foundation Fighting Blindness is to drive the research that will provide preventions, treatments and cures for people affected by the full spectrum of blinding diseases.  Since its establishment in 1971, the Foundation has raised over $350 million for research and clinical trials.
